We know you’re 100 percent shocked by the headline of this post. But, it’s true. Despite the fact that John Calipari clearly wanted all of the players who led him to his first NCAA Championship earlier this month to stay in school—by doing things like, you know, signing one of the two best players in the country for next season—the Wildcats entire starting five from the title game will be leaving school early and entering the 2012 NBA Draft in June. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Terrence Jones, Doron Lamb, Marquis Teague, and, of course, Mr. Unibrow himself Anthony Davis all announced that they’ll be leaving Kentucky for the NBA during a press conference earlier  last night.

“This is a players’ first program,” Calipari said. “I said it three years ago. During the season, it’s about our team. You saw it in this year’s team, they were about each other. When the season is over, it’s about moments like this.”

And by “moments like this,” Coach Cal obviously means “moments when you remind other coaches that you can lose your entire starting five and still be ranked in the Top 25 next season.” Oh, how sweet it is, eh, Coach?
